Hidden Treasures…

Awenda Park is vast, with a wide array of varying habitats. It’s too large to adequately cover in a single outing. But we can narrow it down by carefully considering what we hope to see there. Two notably uncommon warbler species call Awenda Park home alongside many more common yet still impressive varieties. The mature deciduous forests of Awenda provide nesting habitat for the threatened Cerulean Warbler. While there have been no sightings of the species so far this year, Cerulean Warblers spend all their time high up in the forest canopy and with the cold spring may just have arrived late and gone unnoticed.
